KIDS LOVE GAITEとのコラボレーションによるダービーシューズ。上質な牛革で仕立てられたクラシックなフォルムに空気栓を備え、そこから 空気を入れることで靴全体がふくらみます。空気を抜けば、遊び終わった後のビーチボールのようにしぼんだ状態に。シューレースは装飾で、実際はスリッポンとして着用できます。 堅牢で重厚な革靴が、空気ひとつで表情を変える。硬さと柔らかさ、重さと軽さが同時に存在する一足です。履くたびに膨らませ、しぼませることで、あなた自身が空気を操作する存在になる。AIRを、機能ではなく遊びとして体験するシューズです。
【doublet / ダブレット】

doubletのブランドコンセプトは「 違和感のある日常着」です。これは、ベーシックでスタンダードなアイテムに、唐突なアイデアを混ぜ込むことで、日常着に意外性や面白さを加えるという考え方に基づいています。ブランド名は、ルイス・キャロルの言葉遊び「ダブレット」に由来しており、言葉を変化させるように、アイテムを新たなものへと変化させるというコンセプトを表現しています。

“空気” は、いつもそこにあるのに目には見えない。
重さも色も輪郭もなく、普段は意識されることすらありません。

doublet 2026 年秋冬コレクションは、
そんな「見えない空気」と向き合うことから始まりました。

空気中の CO2から生まれた糸、
温室効果ガスを「食べる」微生物がつくるバイオベース樹脂、
排気ガス由来の炭素を原料とするインク。
私たちは、普段気にも留めない “空気” から生まれた素材と出会いました。

けれど、空気の糸は決して扱いやすい素材ではありませんでした。
熱収縮や加工条件による変化、思い通りにならない風合い。
開発者自身も「本当に世に出せるのだろうか」と
何度も自問してきた素材だったと聞いています。

結果だけが称賛されがちな技術の裏側には、
数えきれない失敗と試行錯誤があります。
それでも彼らは、「次こそはうまくいく」と信じて進み続けました。

なぜ、そこまでやるのか。
それはきっと、“おもしろい” からだと思うんです。
昨日できなかったことが今日できるようになる。
昨日わからなかったことが今日わかるようになる。
その先にしか見えない景色がある。

私たちは、その「諦めなかった時間」を形にしたい。
迷いも寄り道も、すべて未来へつながる呼吸(プロセス)だったのだと。

「AIR」は、
空気から生まれた服であり、
信じることから生まれた服であり、
まだ形になっていない未来へとつながるコレクションです。

INFLATED DERBY SHOES

A collaboration with KIDS LOVE GAITE, these derby shoes combine a classic silhouette crafted from premium cowhide leather with an inflatable structure. Equipped with an air valve, the entire shoe expands when inflated. Deflate it, and it collapses like a beach ball after a day of play.

While the shoelaces are purely decorative, the shoes are actually designed to be worn as slip-ons.

A sturdy, heavyweight leather shoe that transforms with nothing more than air. Hardness and softness, weight and lightness coexist within a single pair.

Each time you inflate and deflate them, you become the one controlling the air itself.

A shoe that lets you experience AIR not as a function, but as play.

Designed by Masayuki Ino, doublet’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection is themed “AIR.”

Air is always around us, yet it remains invisible. It has no weight, no color, no shape—and most of the time, we hardly notice it.

This collection begins by exploring the idea of this unseen presence.

Yarns made from atmospheric CO₂, bio-based resins created by microorganisms that consume greenhouse gases, and inks produced from carbon captured from exhaust emissions—doublet discovered innovative materials born from the very air around us.

These materials, however, were far from easy to work with. They required countless trials, failures, and refinements before becoming wearable.

Behind every technological breakthrough lies persistence, experimentation, and the determination to keep moving forward.

Why continue despite the setbacks?

Perhaps because it is fascinating.

What couldn’t be achieved yesterday becomes possible today. What couldn’t be understood yesterday becomes clear tomorrow. Beyond those moments lies a future that can only be reached by continuing.

doublet sought to give form to that time spent refusing to give up—to every hesitation, detour, and breath taken along the way.

“AIR” is a collection born from the air, born from belief, and connected to a future that has yet to take shape.

 

About doublet

doublet’s philosophy is “Ordinary clothes with a sense of discomfort.”

The brand transforms familiar, everyday garments by introducing unexpected ideas, creating clothing that is both surprising and playful.

Its name comes from Lewis Carroll’s word game “Doublets,” reflecting the brand’s desire to transform ordinary objects into something entirely new.
