ブランド名のリブリオ(LIBRIO)は、ポルトガル語でユリを意味する「LIRIO」にビアンカのBを入れた造語。「LIBERTY」＝「自ら勝ち取った権利としての自由」と、デザイナーのルーツであるブラジルの「リオデジャネイロ」の意も込められているという。

The side cords are made from selvage edges of discarded cut-and-sew fabric, repurposing leftover materials from the production process.

LIBRIO MENDONÇA creates garments characterized by free expression and vibrant use of color, designed to be worn regardless of age, race, or gender.

Production takes place in Japan, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and the additional touch of skilled artisans. Each season, the brand expresses the designer’s creative vision and the messages they wish to convey through clothing.

The name “LIBRIO” is a coined word combining “B,” taken from the name Bianca, with “LIRIO,” the Portuguese word for lily. It also carries the meanings of “LIBERTY”—freedom as a right won through one’s own efforts—and “Rio de Janeiro,” the designer’s Brazilian roots.
