文化ファッション大学院大学を卒業後に入社したコム デ ギャルソンで、コム デ ギャルソン・ジュンヤ ワタナベのパタンナーを担当した後、同社内で新たに発動したガンリュウを9年間手がける。

退社から約2年の時を経て、2018年、自身のフルネームを冠したブランド、フミト ガンリュウを創設。

21世紀における服の在り方を追求し、服と人間の体との関係性に迫るコンセプチュアルなウェアを提案している。

Designer: Fumito Ganryu.

After graduating from Bunka Fashion Graduate University, he joined Comme des Garçons.

He worked as a pattern maker for Comme des Garçons Junya Watanabe before leading "Ganryu"—a new label launched within the company—for nine years.

Approximately two years after leaving the company, he established his eponymous brand, Fumito Ganryu, in 2018.

He explores the nature of clothing in the 21st century, proposing conceptual garments that delve into the relationship between clothing and the human body.
